I am very happy that my Father-in-law was able to go to Autumn Lake for rehab. There were a few bumps in the road, but the nurses and CNA’s were very kind. I was able to bring in food to my Dad’s room each night and store snacks in the mini fridge. At times the staffing was short, but that is the reality with COVID these days. My Father-in-law was able to have a recliner which really helped him sleep at night since he doesn’t sleep in a bed normally. I would recommend this facility again if he needed care!
I was very reluctant to allow my wife’s mother to come to this facility, because I grew up off 27th and Ramsey and was very familiar with the facility prior to it being renamed. The building that she resided in for rehabilitation was very new and pretty clean. She got good care from the nurses, stated the food was okay, but it was tough to get ahold of the staff at the rehab station at times. My wife and I were able to reach out to the social worker and admissions and get the answers we needed for her care. This wasn’t a bad experience for my mother in law, except she wanted to go home vs. rehabilitation. I can’t thank the staff at Autumn Lake enough. I was very jaded at first and thought the worst. Those who care for the elderly are saints.
The rooms on the rehab unit are new, modern, and clean. The rooms have a mini fridge, microwave, are all private, and have a shower inside of the room. Staffing was short at times, but with Covid happening I am seeing short staffing everywhere including non-healthcare facilities.
